Down 4-2, Detroit reached into their heart and pulled out six more runs to defeat Minnesota 8-6.

Justin Verlander settled down after allowing those initial four runs to earn his 11th win on the season. What a relief to have our ace healthy.

Miguel Cabrera, bad ankle and all, drove in our 3rd run. Eugenio Suarez gave us the lead with a single, scoring runners on second and third. With snarfs at the same bases, Nick Castellanos knocked them home on a single, a theme for Detroit. The Tigers recorded 15 of their 17 for base hits.

Leading 7-4, the Twins got one back on a ball over J.D.’s head in left. Luckily, “Big Cat” Cabrera squirted another one up the middle, just past the pitcher and the middle infield to answer. That insurance run helped lessen the disaster that is Joe Nathan. Captain implosion left our hearts racing again as the final out sounded.

VICTORY!
