Joe Nathan finds his balls?

After searching and coming up short all season long, Nathan may have reached back into his old jock-strap and found what he was missing. Credit our GM for trading for another closer to properly motivate Jittery Joe, who promptly struck out the side, all on 1-2 counts, to save his 21st game.

The Tigers manufactured the first run of the game. Anaheim scored three runs in the middle innings only to see Detroit respond with three themselves. Later on, Austin Jackson scored and knocked in kid Suarez. Nick Castellanos went 2-4 with two RBI’s. The entire lineup worked Angels pitching for 41 plate appearances. Ian Kinsler drove in a pair as well.

Max Scherzer was also sensational, going seven strong with 11 strikeouts. He needed only 103 pitches for his 12th win of the season (12-3), giving up just six hits and one walk.
