Our manager could be seen asking pitching coach Jeff Jones if he should pull his pitcher instead of making the decision himself while Justin Verlander’s pitch count continued to rise. Instead of pulling a guy who gave up one earned run though five innings, Ausmus left our ace in there to get pummeled for six additional earned runs that inning. His count was over 120 when he was finally pulled.
Unacceptable.
