Welcome!

TheSportingSnarf  is a website dedicated to the enjoyable, humorous, and nuanced aspects of the sporting and (to a lesser extent) pop-culture world.  We attempt to touch upon (in varying degrees of print/video length) engaging topics which are not discussed nearly enough. We’d love for you to give us your perspective, network, and participate regularly. But if you’d just like to join in on the mob-mentality and get all sanctimonious on a particular sports figure — head on over to ESPN.com. (Mickey Mouse welcomes you.) Or you can keep it real with us.

Rain Pours on Pistons

Poor Stan Van. It must be sooo hard for him to be handed $35 million dollars, control of the team, and then lose your lottery pick. I mean, sure, just one week ago you likely hadn’t cheered for the Pistons for one minute, but still. Still. So hard, Stan Van. (Ron Jeremy jokes begin.) But seriously, fuck […]

Indians Fuel Snarf Train for Another Go-Around

All aboard the snarf train! Shoveling four runs in the 2nd inning right into the engine surely snarfed the Tigers this time, losing 6-2 in Cleveland. It sounds strange to say. Max Scherzer will look to follow in his fellow ace’s footsteps (minus any miscues, of course) tomorrow at noon for the series finale. Torii Hunter […]

Tigers Rally Twice, Get Snarfed in 10th

J.D. Martinez put his name amongst Tigers clutch with a ninth inning bomb past Michael Bourn, center field, tying the game at four. Unfortunately, Al-Al would essentially do the same, giving up a solo homer with two outs and a full count in the bottom of the 10th. Too many walks may have cost us […]

Tigers 1-0

Some rain tried to snarf with today’s Boston-Detroit battle, but in the end, the game went on. Max Scherzer struck out seven Red Sox in six innings, allowing none to score and seven to reach base, four of which were walks. He earned the win and was backed up in relief by Evan Reed, Ian […]

Doubting Your Faith?

Here: Rod Allen’s cackling is priceless. If your faith is still shook, maybe like mine from the end of the Clippers game, Victor Martinez followed it up with a solo blast for back-to-back dongs. He went ham in the dugout, stepping his swag up and up with Torii Hunter in a back-and-forth. Here’s how the Tigers got […]

Tigers 4, O’s 1

Don’t mess with Torii! Ian Kinsler went yard to separate the score from 2-1 to 4-1. Rick Porcello earned another win, and the Tigers bullpen shut the door. Some sacrificing scored our first few runs, with Miguel Cabrera at the heart of it.
