Cabrera.
The Tigers trailed 1-0 in the bottom of the first behind, once again, leaving the announcers’ volume too high. Once I adjusted, Miguel Cabrera singled Ian Kinsler home to tie the game.
Cabrera continued his day at the plate with a two-run homer. The Tigers scored five runs that inning.
Later on, Detroit tacked on two more runs which they’d end up needing.
In the 8th inning, Al-Al relieved Justin Verlander, who threw seven innings and allowed two runs.
Enter the 9th, 8-3 Tigers. Phil Coke strikes out the first two batters out smoothly. Then, he let’s the White Snarfs smack a double down the line. They single in a run. “Big Donkey” is up to bat. He hits a two-run home run for an 8-6 score.
Joba relieved him. He started things off with a four pitch walk. The final snarf hit one solidly to left field, but J.D. Martinez, making his first career start as a Tiger, made a nice catch.
