Let’s skip the glossy parts and get right to the meat:

Joe Nathan blew another save. And got another win.

The Tigers led 6-3 when Nathan entered the bottom of the ninth. As I ate my corndog, everything seemed ok.

Then the first run came in via a solo home run. No outs, 6-4.

WTF? (I took my plate into the kitchen: “Bad plate.”)

I walked back in to see Nathan walking the next Dodger. Then, he walked the following Dodger. No outs.

We’re all sweating now – and he gives up another hit to load the bases. Fuck.

They’re on their feet now in LA for Yasiel Puig, who decides to pinch hit. Fuck.

Nathan strikes him out looking.

Seemingly calmed down, he got the next batter to ground out, scoring the 5th run but getting the second out.

Just when he seemed ready to finish the job the Dodgers smacked a base hit to right field, tying the game.

Thanks to the hustling of Ian Kinsler on two tag-ups from 3rd and the 3-run homer from Nick Castellanos, we had enough runs to force extras.

There, Victor Martinez wasted no time spoiling the night again for the fans in Los Angeles. He delivered a solo home run off LA’s closer to split the tie back open.

In the bottom of the 10th, Ian Kroll struck out two batters before Al-Al got the final out.

What a couple of nights. Yawn.
