8:42 | Jared Sullinger makes 25-foot three point jumper (Phil Pressey assists) | 79-60
8:42 | Pistons Full timeout |
The players must have finally figured out that they can tune out our coach and do a better job, because they turned up the jets after that timeout.
Detroit scored 25 points the rest of the 3rd quarter to trail only ten, 95-85.
They came out busting in the 4th, setting up this sequence:
7:48 | 99-97 | Jonas Jerebko makes 27-foot three point jumper (Rodney Stuckey assists)
7:28 | 99-97 | Rodney Stuckey foul
7:22 | Jerryd Bayless misses 19-foot jumper | 99-97
7:20 | 99-97 | Andre Drummond defensive rebound
7:11 | 99-100 | Jonas Jerebko makes 27-foot three point jumper (Peyton Siva assists)
7:11 | Celtics 20 Sec. timeout |
I saw that score run across the bottom of the screen as the Red Wings battled Montreal. They lost 5-3, despite storming back themselves down 3-0 to tie it, all on 3rd period goals. Then the refs snarfed them… but I digress.
Jonas hit back-to-back triples to take a Pistons lead and a Celtics timeout. The two teams traded buckets until under a minute left, when Piston free throws pushed us over the top for a 115-111 edge.
The Palace fans deserve something good for everything they’ve been through this season, especially on a Saturday night.
