Snarf (snärf): A humorous occurrence and/or person, specifically one relating to the world of sport

About Us

The Sporting Snarf is a website dedicated to the enjoyable, humorous, and nuanced aspects of the sporting and (to a lesser extent) pop-culture world. We attempt to touch upon (in varying degrees of print/video length) engaging topics which are not discussed nearly enough. We'd love for you to give us your perspective, network, and participate regularly. But if you'd just like to join in on the mob-mentality and get all sanctimonious on a particular sports figure -- head on over to ESPN.com. (Mickey Mouse welcomes you.) Or you can keep it real with us.

Martin Luther King, Jr. Day

Please, remember that it is today. There is a host of NBA games to help you commemorate the Doctor’s work, starting with none other than Clippers-Pistons (10.0) at 1:00 PM.

King would be proud of the NBA going with the G’est lineup possible:

New Orleans @ Memphis, 5:00 PM ET on NBA TV (G rating: 6.5/10)

Portland @ Houston, 8:0o on TNT (8.5)

Indiana @ Golden State, 10:30 on TNT (8.0)

And most importantly, remember his message on tolerance, civil rights, equality, and non-violent resistance. Thank you, Dr. King!
