Snarf (snärf): A humorous occurrence and/or person, specifically one relating to the world of sport

About Us

The Sporting Snarf is a website dedicated to the enjoyable, humorous, and nuanced aspects of the sporting and (to a lesser extent) pop-culture world. We attempt to touch upon (in varying degrees of print/video length) engaging topics which are not discussed nearly enough. We'd love for you to give us your perspective, network, and participate regularly. But if you'd just like to check a score, read a game-story, or to join in on the mob-mentality and get all sanctimonious on a particular sports figure -- head on over to ESPN.com. (Mickey Mouse welcomes you.) Or you can keep it real with us.

Really, Snarfmerica?

I see you polling on SportsNation with the Pacers at 56% to win the East. Just thought we should write this inane prediction down. Soooo early in the season, plus these Pacers haven’t proven shit.

This is a joke. The Heat are so much better than everyone else it’s sick. The Spurs had the coach but not the skill. That was the closest anyone’s going to get. For a while.

Remember, we’re talking about the playoffs. Not practice: the playoffs. Wait for it.

Peaking early is a bad sign unless you’re utterly dominant, which Indiana is not. I am not afraid of Paul George. I am afraid of James.
