Winston-Salem State quarterback Rudy Johnson was beaten up at a football banquet Friday afternoon, and the Winston-Salem Journal reported five players from Virginia State are responsible.
Division II schools Virginia State and Winston-Salem State were set to play in the CIAA championship Saturday, but officials canceled the game Friday after Johnson was injured in a fight that broke out in a bathroom during the event at WSSU.
