Earl Webb. The don of the double.

Snarfington Webb hit 67 doubles in 1931, the single season record for Major League Baseball. Since 1936, no snarf has recorded over 60 in a year.

Manny Machadomanny-machado-meme-300x216, a young snarf with the Baltimore Orioles, has hit 34 this year in 76 games played. That projects to 72 for the season. He is only 20 with limited depth to his bat, for now at least. His five long dongs on the year project for 11 total. He isn’t slowing down, hitting six in his last 10 games (but no homers).

This isn’t especially exciting or interesting, but you have been warned.
