Damn.

Without a goodbye, Tayshaun Prince was sent to the Memphis Grizzlies yesterday.

Prince was the last remaining member of the 2004 NBA Champion Detroit Pistons.

Tayshaun showed impressive loyalty. He has only ever worn a Pistons jersey.

These are sad times for Detroit basketball. We shouldn’t be resorting to this with a lineup that had enough to be playing way better than they are now. How come Prince showed more emotion in the collapse against Milwaukee than our coach?

Does Coach Frank have an excuse?

Last season was his “free fuck up.” With our team ninth overall in rebounds, he couldn’t deliver the point to our players (Greg Monroe, Andre Drummond, and JMax – plenty of height in the post) to stop the Bucks from hounding the offensive boards. It was getting to announcer Special K.

Against the Bulls in Chicago where we lost 85-82, Nate Robinson came alive. It was so obvious, yet even out of a Detroit timeout, we didn’t key in on Nate and instead propelled his head to almost explode.

Prince, the Pistons, and Detroit fans deserve better.

The Palace Prince never did anything wrong. He always bought into the team, led the way with defense, and was true to being a Piston.

The end of an era.
