On Dec. 26, Notre Dame coaches were informed by Manti Te’o and his parents that Manti had been the victim of what appears to be a hoax in which someone using the fictitious name Lennay Kekua apparently ingratiated herself with Manti and then conspired with others to lead him to believe she had tragically died of leukemia. The University immediately initiated an investigation to assist Manti and his family in discovering the motive for and nature of this hoax. While the proper authorities will continue to investigate this troubling matter, this appears to be, at a minimum, a sad and very cruel deception to entertain its perpetrators.

But something doesnt add up … because Teos father had gone on record during the season saying Manti told him he and the GF would often meet up in Hawaii. So was the father lying? Or was Manti lying? Something aint right.

That courage and love he showed was real and he shouldn’t be afraid to keep being who he was.

This is a horrific thing to do to someone. “Lennay Kekua” obviously was fake.

So, did Manti ever meet “Kekua” face-to-face? He had to have, right?

Who impersonated her? That’s all I want to know.

EDIT: Someone was impersonating her voice. It sounds like Manti Te’o never met her (which, admittedly, raises my eyebrows), but spoke to her on the phone and messaged her enough to call her his girlfriend. She called him in December (she was “dead” since September) and he told his team, Notre Dame, on Dec. 26.

Think about it; ND’s whole season was partially inspired by her death. He had to go through this in the weeks leading up to the national title game. Notre Dame’s mojo was missing vs. Alabama, especially Te’os. How could we think this didn’t affect the Irish’s Championship? It’s not like they sucked, but that was kind of magic motivation.
