Is it possible that by looking too closely, you miss the obvious?
This is really, really gay, but just to defend my boy (Big Cat) against the Trout, I’m here.
First, I have to understand why “WAR” means so much to certain snarfs.
Look, we aren’t stupid. “Wins Above Replacement” is how much more a team would lose if you subbed in an average player at the respective player’s position, right?
Mike Trout is the more efficient fielder and has more steals, but do you honestly think he’s had more of an impact this year than Miguel Cabrera? Sounds like a silly statistic if Trout’s speed is given such weight.
My brain is unable to dive further into “WAR” – WTF is more like it. It’s not as telling as some good old fashioned categories:
RBI’s
BA
HR’s
Oh wait – Big Cat took the “Triple Crown?”
What were we talking about?
Everyone is searching for that all-inclusive measuring tool to definitively rank people. So lazy. Think for yourself.
Most the time our own witnessing is more accurate testimony than simply forcing a box score to tell the tale.
And look at the impact: Cabrera’s Tigers are in the playoffs, Trout’s Angels aren’t. Case closed.
If you don’t know Big Cat is the MVP, you weren’t watching this season.
………………..It’s the Big Cat vs The Trouser Trout………………its just that embarrassing!
