Detroit completed a sweep of the Chicago White Sox today, Sunday, July 22, 2012.

With 21-year-old prospect Jacob Turner on the mound, the Tigers won 6-4.

It was Turner’s first career win.

Detroit was ahead 6-3 when he left in the top of the 5th, one out. Turner was pulled after Alex Rios hit a 2-Run Homer.

In relief, Detroit held on despite Kevin Youkilis belting a solo blast, largely behind the handy relief work of Octavio Dotel. Dotel struck out 4 of the 5 batters he faced and didn’t allow a base runner.

Tiger 2-out rallies continue.

Brennan Boesch stayed hot, hitting another home run.

After surrendering a first inning run, Detroit responded right away in the bottom half of the inning with #2 hitter Quintin Berry sending leadoff man Austin Jackson home with his 2nd HR of the year.

NOTE: Miguel Cabrera of Detroit hit his 299th and 300th career home runs.
