I know you’d feel more comfortable if rich-ballers were instead “Yes-men”, but after James, Wade, and Bosh, we now have:
LAKERS: Nash, Bryant, and Gasol [Bynum]
NETS: Williams, Johnson, and Howard (potentially) [Wallace]
CELTICS: Rondo, Pierce, and Garnett
CLIPPERS: Paul, Billups, and Griffin [Butler]
KNICKS: Kidd, Anthony, Stoudemire, and Chandler. [Lin?]
I want to hear the complaining about those teams now, too.
Let’s go.
Back when MJ was king, they had the “Big 2” with Scottie Pippen. You had Payton & Kemp, Stockton & Malone, etc.
Point is, the concept of teaming up isn’t new.
They called McHale, Parish & Bird the first “Big 3” http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boston_Celtics#1979.E2.80.9392:_The_Larry_Bird_Era
THIS SHIT IS STANDARD PROCEDURE.

Kobe on Big 3s: “That’s the way the league is evolving. To be competitive you gotta have three guys.”
You gotta be an “insider” on ESPN: “Doolittle: Is NBA’s ‘Big 3’ era now inevitable?”
