That hardships didn’t happen, and that the effects didn’t matter, and that everything is now all-good?
Segregation was LEGAL until cases in 1954 & 1968 – both in my own Father’s lifetime. NOT LONG AGO. Dating back to slavery, we started a country with people being tortured and held captive. Then America banned non-white people from schools, owning property, or having any rights whatsoever. People are born into poverty, and we stand by in 2011 and let them suffer while privileged kids fatten up. It’s called social responsibility – aka adult awareness. Grow up, show some maturity about collective strength. Or someday, when you need help, we will have nothing left. Nothing in place to do anything.
Why would we need systems to help balance out all the fucked up situations? LOOK AT A DAMN TIMELINE.
Unequal resources has made money THE factor in everything. How can we live with ourselves? Hoarding money in fear represents an evil way of living, something no one can stand for.
There are those with – and those without. Feel free to throw stones.
…………………America must come to grips with the facts of its past………………your can’t keep perpetuating the dream world of the class that prides itself in justifying plowing the insignificants into the ground…………….nobody exists for the personal consumption of another.
