When writing the previous column about owners, I got to thinking.

I am the one putting out my own words; that’s the risk/fear I work with. So if you edit my article, you really don’t know what it’s like to be in my shoes, writing.

Money is a safety feature for the rich. Investing is their way of making money. which, if you think about it, means you aren’t really doing ANYTHING.

If I’m worth 2 Billion, I can play with a billion. I’ve got a billion in the bank.

I buy The Mavericks, they finally win a ring. I gave them a better arena, fans, a real payroll, and maybe I helped, but I for sure didn’t do as much as the players. Unless you’re on the court, in the game, playing, you aren’t apart of the show. You’re a spectator. Money is an affordable loss for the rich, so while maybe an NBA owner at least gets his hands dirty, they aren’t risking anything. Not dealing with pain everyday or life-threatening injury’s.

BIG DIFFERENCE.

A General might be in battle, so he’s more like a soldier. So compare the president to the soldier, and specifically the team who actually captured Bin Laden: the acclaim, the strategy, yes, all brilliant, Obama.

But who gets paid for the manual labor to do the capture? Who actually went and got him? Not Barack.

The guys doing the labor, risking death. We pay them. Obama foots the bill. JUST LIKE THE OWNERS.

“Owning” a team needs to be called “Bank-Rolling” a team, because it is a privilege FOR THE GUY WITH MONEY.

SO why do NBA players deserve the money? Because they bloody earned it.
