Jon StewSauce Snarf was brilliant back in 04 on Crossfire, as noted in WIKIPEDIA:

Jon Stewart’s appearance

On October 15, 2004, Jon Stewart appeared on the program, ostensibly to promote his book America (The Book): A Citizen’s Guide to Democracy Inaction. Instead he disparaged the format of Crossfire and the style of arguments presented on the show. He said the program failed its responsibility to the public discourse and indulged in “partisan hackery,” reducing news coverage of important issues to a series of talking points from both extremes of the political spectrum. Carlson countered Stewart’s criticisms by reading examples of questions Stewart had asked of then-presidential candidate John Kerry during his recent interview on The Daily Show, such as, “How are you holding up?” and “Have you ever flip-flopped?” Stewart said that he didn’t think his role as a comedian was to conduct hard-hitting interviews. Begala defended the show on the basis that it was intended as a forum for debate, to which Stewart responded that Crossfire was closer to theater than genuine debate.

I’m going to extend Jon’s theory about Crossfire’s style of “reducing news coverage of important issues to a series of talking points from both extremes of the political spectrum” to what has become the Republican-Democrat staple: arguing over the same fucking points we all should just be human about.

Abortion? Not your body, hers (legal).

Marijuana? Medically safe, beneficial, and Alcohol is legal.

Private Schools? No, equality for all kids.

Health-care? No one’s fault, everyone needs it (or is it stone throwing time judge-horses?).

College? Free.

Big Business? Subject to fair practice laws in the U.S. and Union Worker Wages (No more $7/hr, people need 15+), or else feel free to move. That means no credit card interest rate overdraft banking scams (formerly known as LoanSharks) and tax breaks to use American, not overseas, workers – tax the hell out of any person’s international businesses if they want to reside on U.S. soil. You live here, you get all your rights to freedom, you must be a part of the whole game or you can’t play.

We get no where with blanket-Christian arguments saying gay people aren’t right – FUCK OFF. Human Rights are not to be questioned, otherwise we are playing God. Whose to say that a man and a woman is the right way? It’s subjective, why should anyone have to prove anything more than someone else?

I want to see a Presidential election over skill, knowledge, your credentials and worldy experience. I see it in Barack Obama, President: City-Organizer in Chicago, State Leader in Illinois, Harvard President, world knowledge. The Republicans hold a glamorous office seat that they BOUGHT. I never hear about their life as a college kid or role at a more community level, and their’s no real personality or intangibles or realness. Every candidate changes their views right before election (McCain) to best fit that year’s Stereotypical Voting Republicans. Simple Christians voting for a Simple Christian Robot.
