I read a SLAM magazine in the airport growing up that changed my life. Scoop Jackson wrote a fake dream team write up in the Purple Reign issue w/ Lakers Shaq and Kobe on the cover.

While a stretch, it was a realistic stretch. Jackson wrote “The policy: fuck it.” In a magazine! He went on to detail a hilarious cast that kept it real while balling through international competition (Iverson, Sprewell, Kobe, Vince Carter, among many greats). He used my imagination for players I loved in a positive, dope way.

I love when writer’s mostly make up own made up shit, not the same recycled garbage headlines their co-workers do. Be a funny sports writer.

Now? It’s always an attempt to analyze everything. Return to those goofy, nonsensical, F-U-N comments. I get so distracted by the wordiness in these current long ass write ups that I actually am getting more and more bored with shit these days.
