Snarf (snärf): A humorous occurrence and/or person, specifically one relating to the world of sport

Wizard Gathering, Los Angeles

Friday, February 18:

Rookie-Sophomore Game. D Cousins, JWall run the show. 22 assists and MVP for John Wall. Nice alley-oop bounce pass to Blake.

SATURDAY- Night of Wizard Tricks

Skills Contest. Stephen Curry wins.

3-point contest. Ray Allen gets beat by James Jones.

Dunk Contest. McGee, aka The JugglerMcClown, puts 3 balls in the hoop. Ibaka and DeRozan don’t advance but do some nice tricks. Ibaka is totally underscored from the free throw line. Demar’s 2nd dunk was nice.

The Final went to the man who can spin. I’m telling you, Dwight Howard is lame because he has no torque… Ballerina Blake (BB) is able to easily out class McClown.

SUNDAY

Mamba over King.Kobe takes MVP of the Wizard Ball, as LeBron and his Triple Double messed around in the First Half and Lost.

Yes, Wizards.

  • Where Has the NBA Gone? To me, sports are supposed to be relatable to the same game we play as kids in the backyard. But in the 21st century, with all the ads and adjustments to the rules for TV ratings, just like BASEketball discussed, we’re losing the real spirit. Take the Golden State Warriors as the prime example. Clearly, [...]
  • Mike Posner – Buried In Detroit Buried in Detroit, huh? wow, maybe i can write this while the tears rain down MY FACE lol dammit this is as poetic as anything I’ve ever heard… Mike Posner represents our city so well. To know another soldier feels the same way about the great Detroit truly inspires me. Down but not out, the [...]
  • Bullied Home I thought my Broncos won Super Bowl 50 and the NFL season was over. Nope. Watching some amazing Gs wearing the winged-wheel get pushed around by constant clutching, grabbing, cheap-shotting, illegal hitting, and general dirtiness AGAIN was fucked. They always do it to Detroit because we have the most talented skaters and they can’t catch up. [...]
  • Pistons Could Be Up 2-0… So, why aren’t we? Much like our Detroit Red Wings trailing two games, it’s pretty much now or never. And I know exactly how to fix it. Stan Van Gundy is failing (like he often did during the regular season) to reign in the passion and energy of the young Bad Boys 3.0, letting it [...]
  • Too Many Teams to Follow So, it’s not the Palestine-Israel conflict, but seeing my Tigers on opening day created a log-jam at centerfield with the Pistons on TNT at the same time. (NO, that analogy DOES NOT need to make sense!) For real though, oldschool & I were on another Justin Verlander ride and our poor pushing for the playoffs [...]

— Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Welcome, Wizards

TheSportingSnarf is a website dedicated to the humorous, nuanced, and enjoyable aspects of the sporting and (to a lesser extent) pop-culture world. We attempt to touch upon (in varying degrees of print/video length) engaging topics which are not discussed nearly enough. We'd love for you to give us your perspective, network, and participate regularly. But if you'd just like to join in on the mob-mentality and get all sanctimonious on a particular sports figure -- head on over to ESPN.com. (Mickey Mouse welcomes you.) Or you can keep it real with us.
