Though I was quite excited for his triumphant return, it has proved to be incredibly short lived. Peter “Foppa” Forsberg has once again decided to retire from the National Hockey League, after playing in just 2 games this season for the Colorado Avalance. The Swede’s great career included 708 games played, 249 goals, 885 points, 2 Stanley Cups, and 2 Olympic Gold Medals. He even has a goal named after him; the deke move on a breakaway going to one hand (backhand) on the stick and sliding the puck past the goalie is known as the “Forsberg goal”. So, Peter, hejdå (goodbye) and lycka till (good luck).
